Ingredients:

½ cup yellow lentils( moong dal)
·
½ cup melted unsalted butter
·
¼ tsp cardamom powder
·
2 cup water
·
Few strands of saffron
·
1 tbsp sliced almonds
·
2/3 cup of sugar or to taste
Preparation:
Blend the moong daal, add some
water and make a fine paste of it. Take a heavy bottom pan and add daal and
butter in it and heat it. Cook stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until
all the water is absorbed and the colour is light brown. On the other stove make
syrup in a pot. For it add water and sugar and boil it on medium heat. Let it
boil for two minutes and then add cardamom powder and saffron. Mix well and add
in the daal. When it starts boiling reduce heat to low and cover for about 2-3
minutes. Then remove the cover and cook it stirring well unless it starts to
leave oil. Now take the halwa out in the
serving plate and garnish it. Enjoy!
